Structural adhesives are those with high strength, i.e. compressive strength > 65 MPa, steel-steel bonding strength > 30 MPa, shear strength > 18 MPa. They can bear relatively large loads, and are ageing-resistant, fatigue-resistant and corrosion-resistant. They have stable performance in the expected life and are suitable for adhesives that can withstand strong bonding of structural parts.

Therefore, structural adhesives can be widely used to bond metal, ceramics, plastics, rubber, wood and other similar materials or different materials. They can also partly replace the traditional connection forms such as welding, riveting and bolt connection. The stress distribution on the joint surface is uniform, and there is no thermal impact and deformation on the parts.
